CONTEST INFO SUMMARY

FAQ

What is OCC: Mission Munny?
OCC: Mission Munny is inspired by the Operation Christmas Child campaign run yearly, by Samaritan's Purse. In order to encourage more people to pack a shoebox, customized munny prizes are used as a motivation booster. Please keep in mind that OCC: Mission Munny IS NOT SPONSERED by Samaritan's Purse. OCC: Mission Munny is organized by a group of Canadian University students, who have taken part in the original OCC and have decided to organize their own mini campaign and promote this good cause.

Who are the organizers?
The organizers are Canadian University students; you might better recognize them on Youtube and international fan forums.

    Can I put in toys that I have used before, or do they have to be brand new?
    The toys you put in MUST be brand new; they cannot even be "gently-used." This is because of custom regulations. If you can't afford to buy expensive toys, then that's fine. Dollar-stores usually have some pretty cheap yet cool toys for kids.

    In previous years, I didn't have to put in shipping money? Do I still have to?
    We highly encourage you to put in shipping money because it will really help out the people who are sorting the boxes and sending them overseas. Just think of it as an extra donation to the cause.

    I'm packing boxes with a whole bunch of people; Do I still have to include a picture of the shoebox at the drop-off point, because I might not be the one doing the drop-off.
    The point of the drop-off location picture is for you to be eligiable in entering the munny contest. Just choose one box that you want to enter into the contest and take the two pictures required. If you're not interested in the contest, or not eligiable but still want to show off your boxes, feel free to send in pictures of your finished boxes.

    Where will the shoebox be sent?
    Once your shoebox is dropped off at a local drop-off location, official Samaritan Purse collectors will pick up the shoebox along with hundreds of others. These shoeboxes will be sent to children in a third-world country; children who have never received a gift let alone a Christmas gift.

    Who are eligiable to win the customized munny?
    As said before, you are considered eligiable to win the customized munny if you fulfill ALL OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
  • You are currently a Canada or US resident
  • You have already sent in both pictures, and have received a confirmation email from the OCC Mission Munny organizers.
  • Make sure your email includes the two pictures, your name, gender, age and country.

    How many times can I enter the contest?
    Entries are limited to one box per person. If you want to do more than one box then that's great, but you can only enter one box into the munny contest itself. We are more than happy to receive multiple pictures of multiple boxes, but make sure you indicate which box you want to enter into the contest.

    How do the winners request their customized munny?
    The winners will be notified in 1-2 weeks time, and they will be able to request a theme of their choice. For example, if the winner is a SHINee fan they can request a SHINee inspired munny like the one in the "Hello" music video. For hockey fans, they can ask for an NHL-hockey inspired munny. The theme is all up to the winner.

    Is there a deadline for the winners to request their munny?
    The deadline is one week from when the winner's notification is sent. If the request is not sent before that, a runner up entry will be chosen.

    When will the winner receive the munny?
    The munny will arrive in the mail between Christmas and the start of the New Year. This is because the organizers of this campaign have University finals between the end of November to two days before Christmas.

    I don't live in Canada or the US, but I still want to enter to win the munny. How can I win?
    Unfortunately due to international shipping regulations, we are unable to send the munny to non-Canada and non-US residents. But we still encourage everyone to take part in Operation Christmas Child; to spread a little bit of joy to a child in a third world country. At the end of the contest, we will have an honorable mention gallery.
